Pastor’s Message –

Revelation 22: 1-5

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city and his servants will serve Him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of the lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.

It’s been one week since the extraordinary events of last Monday. We have all suffered a great deal with that event. We all have tried to understand why and how could this happen? But, now as we continue to try to gather our feelings together I think it is time for us to look toward God to show us healing. In the reading above we see that God is willing to heal all who come to him or why would he have the tree of life bear leaves for just that. He will let us see his face and we will never need light again because God will heal us and deliver light to us. He will heal our hearts and souls and all we have to do is ask him and follow him. So, this week continue to pay for the VT community, and all the communities that have been touched by this event, but also pray for God to use the tree of life and give us the light and heal us so we may know his love better.

God Bless

Confirmation Class.  This week will be the last time the class will meet. We are going on a journey into our Methodist past. We plan to visit an early Methodist school, the site of one of the first conferences held in Virginia, the home site of one of the early ordained ministers in American Methodism and if time allows we are planning to visit the remains of the original site of Randolph Macon College. Aspecial service will be planned for the members of the class and all confirmed members of the Church in May. I would like to thank all of those who took part in the class. You have lifted me up with your enthusiasm and love for Jesus Christ.

The Prayer of Jabez for Women

How can a busy mom expand her territory without neglecting the most important territory she already has—her family? Darlene Wilkinson, wife of the author of The Prayer of Jabez, deals with this important question and many others in The Prayer of Jabez for Women. Designed as a complimentary release to Bruce Wilkinson's "The Prayer of Jabez," this release is based on the best selling book by Darlene Wilkinson. Taking a women's perspective, Wilkinson relates prayer and worship techniques to a female audience, and is designed to help both individuals and groups
