Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations
Throughout
the summer, we are focusing on five practices we can do as a church to help
us live out God's mission for us more fully. We will explore in depth the following
five practices:
1. Radical hospitality;
2. Passionate worship;
3. Intentional faith development;
4. Risk-taking mission and service; and
5. Extravagant generosity.
I
hope every one of you will take a few minutes each day to work through our
special editions of the
Transformation Journal
concerning cultivating fruitfulness.
Once we have concluded the sermon series, we will gather outside of
worship in order to discern how we want to live out these five practices in
our churches. It is time for us to
decide how to be the people of God in practical, authentic, and relevant
terms in order to bear fruit.
Antioch Administrative Board: Cultivating
Fruitfulness!
We
will have a special administrative board meeting on Tuesday, July 13th
at 7:00 PM to establish the Growth Team, decide when and how often the
team will meet, and discuss using money from a generous donation to the
church to fund our quest for fruitfulness.
This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in being a
part of the Growth Team, so please come!
All Hand’s on Deck!
We have partnered with The Shepherd’s Inn (a
shelter working to help homeless families get off the streets) in South
Hill to construct and possibly fence-in a carport type shelter that will
help them provide a good, safe
space for the children to play. Mark
your calendars for Saturday, July 17th. We will meet at Antioch at 8:00 AM
and travel to South Hill together.
Please talk with Walter Moseley if you can come or have questions!
